What makes BetterAir's products different from other products?

BetterAir is the innovator of the world's only probiotic air, surface and object cleaning system.

We pioneered a way to clean air and surfaces with Enviro-Biotics® — environmental probiotics — by harnessing their natural power to bring balance to indoor living and work places. BetterAir cleans inanimate organic allergens indoors and helps to neutralize noxious odors from organic sources.

What are probiotics?

Probiotics are natural microbial organisms found in nature and our own bodies. They are beneficial bacteria that contribute to a person’s overall health and well-being by supporting healthy immune function.

You may be familiar with probiotics — they are commonly found in foods such as yogurts, fermented vegetables and daily dietary supplements. Probiotics live and grow in nearly all environments.

What are BetterAir's Enviro-Biotics® and where do they come from?

BetterAir's Enviro-Biotics® are a proprietary blend of multiple strains of naturally occurring probiotics (found in the soil and on plants) that are cultured (grown in a natural nutrient substance) under ISO-9001 certified laboratory conditions and then suspended in water. In absence of air and nutrients, they hibernate and transform into spores.

How do BetterAir Enviro-Biotics® work?

BetterAir's patented technology intermittently releases environmental probiotics known as Bacillus ferment throughout the day. Billions of microscopic probiotics work to create a healthy indoor environment by forming a protective layer that coats and protects surfaces and objects.

Once diffused into the air, they come to rest upon surfaces and objects where air and nutrients are available and germinate into living organisms that begin to consume inanimate organic allergens as well as eliminate organic odors.

Enviro-Biotics® consume inanimate organic particulate matter to create an environment that is balanced and abundant with beneficial bacteria.

Are BetterAir products safe for humans, pets and animals?

BetterAir's Enviro-Biotics® (probiotics blend) have undergone and passed safety testing by certified third-party Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) labs.

Additionally, BetterAir’s ingredients are certified as safe for humans, animals and the environment by MADE SAFE®, the premiere agency in the U.S. for certifying consumer products.

Due to their naturally occurring biological nature, all betterair products are safe for human, pet and animal contact. They are also environmentally friendly, 100% natural and organic and biodegradable.

What are the optimal storage conditions for the BetterAir products?

Probiotics should be stored at room temperature, away from sunlight.

How do I know my Biotica800® is working?

The probiotic mist that is dispersed by the Biotica800® is microscopic, so you cannot normally see it.

When the manual dispersion (snowflake) button is pushed you should feel and hear the high pressure pump cycling. We have also included a test procedure with your Biotica800® to ensure that your unit is dispersing the Enviro-Biotics®.

The Biotica800® Test Paper is a blue-colored paper strip that senses the presence of humidity and turns light pink/white when exposed. It tests the dispersion of the Biotica800’s Enviro-Biotics®, which use water from the Sea of Galilee as a suspension agent.

When the test strip is placed over the dispersion vent of the Biotica800® and the manual (snowflake) button is activated, you will see the paper turn pinkish or white. All that needs to happen is a slight color change. It makes no difference if the color change is slight or more pronounced — either indicates the probiotics are being dispersed properly.

Please follow the following steps to administer the test.

  1. Follow the set up instructions for your Biotica800® contained in the owner’s manual.
  2. After the Biotica800® has finished its initial cycling, remove the probiotic cartridge cover.
  3. Place a single blue strip of BetterAir Test Paper over the dispersion vent (where the Enviro-Biotics® are dispersed).
  4. Push the manual (snowflake) button to cycle the Biotica800®. You should feel the high pressure pump cycling and hear a faint cycling noise.
  5. Carefully observe the BetterAir Test Paper and confirm the paper covering the dispersion vent has changed color — the color change can be slight or more pronounced, but any color change indicates the Biotica800® is working properly.

If the BetterAir Test Paper does not display a color change, please remove your Enviro-Biotics® cartridge and reinsert to insure there is a tight seal. If there is no color change upon retesting the unit, please contact customer service and they will go over additional steps or authorize a cartridge or Biotica800® replacement.

If I have an existing UV light purification system, what effect will that have on the probiotics?

UV light purification systems may destroy some of the probiotics that get drawn into range.

In order to get the most out of your BetterAir purifier, DO NOT position it near any UV light purification systems as they eliminate all bacteria — good and bad.

Most BetterAir probiotics will land on indoor surfaces and won’t be affected by the UV light purifier.

What does it mean if the light on the power converter is blinking?

The light on the power converter is normally lit solid. If it is blinking, please contact customer service as your unit may need to be replaced.

How long does the probiotic cartridge last?

Under normal, automated operating circumstances, each probiotic cartridge will last an estimated three months (90 days). The cartridge may empty more quickly depending on ambient temperature and humidity along with continued use of the manual dispersion (snowflake) button.

How do I know when to change the probiotic cartridge?

You should change the Enviro-Biotics® cartridge every three months or when it is empty.

You can check the cartridge fluid level visually. Additionally, the Biotica800® will have a higher-volume cycling sound when the cartridge is empty or running low.

How do I change the Probiotic cartridge?

Please refer to the Biotica800® User Manual.

How do I order replacement probiotic cartridges?

You can visit our Products page for refills.

This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may have other legal rights that vary from state to state. Please register your Biotica800® at www.BetterAirUS.com

What is the life expectancy of the Biotica800®?

With proper care, the Biotica800® will last for many years of use.

Where do the probiotics come from?

The proprietary strains of probiotics that comprise our Enviro-Biotics® are naturally occurring and are sourced from the soil and from plants. They are then cultured in an ISO-9001 certified laboratory located in Israel to ensure they are of the highest purity and safety.

How long does it take to feel the effects of the environmental reset?

Some people feel the difference in a few days.  Most people notice a difference in about three to five weeks.  The variables are the level of allergen infestation and one’s sensitivity to the allergens.

Where should I place my Biotica800® for best effect?

We recommend placing the Biotica800® in your bedroom as that is where most people spend most of their time when home. That is also where dust mite matter tends to be the most common.

Do not place it near an open window. Incoming air can be filled with inanimate allergens (pollen, for example) and negate the "safe zone" you are creating in the bedroom.

Conversely, if you are battling odors or a pet dander allergy, you should place the unit near the area where the odor is most prominent or where your pets commonly spend time.

When I first place the cartridge into my Biotica800® and plug it in, bubbles come out of the top of the unit. Is this normal?

Yes. Some of the Enviro-Biotics® create fermentation in the water and release bubbles that may appear in the first few minutes of use. Simply wipe the bubbles away and they will subside shortly.

What does the red/green light on the power adapter mean?

When illuminated, it shows that the voltage conversion from AC to DC is operating and the wall receptacle is active. If the light displays a fast blink please contact customer service at contact@baeus.us.
